"it's a matter of a pinion." Or, a leg to stand on. which, if you add it all up, is what our vainglorious CASA is trying to stare down. This on going, catastrophic  never ending balancing act, combined with a complete lack of Ministerial interest is becoming extremely embarrassing, evermore expensive, counterproductive and detrimental to the aviation industry. The Lemming like, blind plunge into the abyss is led by a person who is. undoubtedly personally a first class human, alas, as history reveals, one with no bloody clue about the industry under the administration she is allegedly 'running'; or, nearer to reality; the one which is running her. IMO, Spence may be a great administrator; but, has no idea of the 'sub-cultures' and liberties taken on her watch. The biggest threat resides within the corridors of her own power, aided, abetted and promoted from within, by those who pay lip service, but plot against and snigger at in the pubs, parties and tea rooms.

Among a number of outstanding matters which demand executive fortitude, there are some which, although inherited, must be addressed if Australia is to attain any level of 'credibility' and alliance with the bigger world; for example - MOSAIC.  A remarkable piece of painstaking, clever (brilliant) work delivered by the FAA and others. Carefully constructed, duly considered and of great import to the global industry, Now, most ICAO COMPLIANT nations will with little fuss or expense, in short order, slot the new regulations into their existing matrix and power on. CASA is already mumbling and fumbling; and, now must spend probably years fiddling about trying to wiggle the Mosaic into the existing rule set. BUT: the time and cost and discussion involved in amending the existing 'regulations' to accommodate a 'one-piece' slice of excellent thinking don't bear thinking about. The fundamental flaws and intricate 'internal politics' and thinking and embedded opposition to ICAO will delay, dilute and bastardise an excellent innovation, of value to the industry and, by extension, this nation; and, further demean a less than stellar reputation. Consider the parts 21, 61, 222 + and +: before facing down the vested interests in keeping things 'the way they are.

While I'm 'at it'; I'm not sure who is writing the Spence 'spin' and abrogation offerings; however, the Bull--Shit dripping from that pen beggars belief. I mean who, in the seven Hells would believe it? Seriously. The latest 'soppy twaddle' ladled out relating to the absolute failure of 'system' revealed in the 'Croc Jock' saga - and his mate in Broome demeans the intelligence of industry participants and makes a mockery of the CASA claim to integrity, fidelity or 'operational' intelligence. The 'Blurb" from Spence _ HERE_ clearly defines the contempt the organisation has for the 'industry' and how far removed from reality and purpose CASA strayed. In short; neither CASA, nor its management is fit for purpose, nor able to justify the incredible cost to the public they are blatantly deceiving. There are multiple wrecked aircraft; a 12 y.o girl killed; two men, one damaged beyond normal life. another dead. How dare you CASA; how TF dare you.......

Aye, I know, lost it a bit back then; my only excuse is probably too much time spent monitoring the appalling antics of and needless suffering caused in the name of 'Safety' over the past 20 years and sheer frustration with politicians who just shrug and toddle off back to their safe sinecure; and ministers who hide behind a massive stone wall of bureaucracy and the paid for shelter it provides; for its own protection. It is such a counterproductive, expensive mess.
