Dear P2,

Labor wants you to believe their Budget helps small businesses.

Don’t believe it.

Look past the spin and you’ll find the truth.

This is a true Labor Budget: more tax, more regulation, more bureaucracy and higher costs for the very people who built this country.

Australians deserve better.

They deserve a government that rewards hard work and gives people the opportunity to get ahead.

This is a government that talks about cutting ‘white tape’ while spending more than half a billion dollars building more green tape bureaucracy.

A government boasting about ‘support’ for business while Australians have endured 15 interest rate rises under Anthony Albanese.

A government claiming to back small business while more than 40,000 businesses have collapsed on its watch and the number keeps climbing.

Australians are doing it tough. And it’s getting harder.

Power bills are up.

Insurance costs are up.

Borrowing costs are up.

Food costs are up.

And what is Labor’s answer? More reporting. More paperwork. More pressure on cash flow.

They want small businesses paying tax month after month, while families and employers are already being crushed under inflation and rising costs.

Buried in Labor’s own Budget papers is a stunning admission: only 12 per cent of small businesses had PAYG instalments that closely matched their final tax outcome in the year prior.

In other words, nine out of ten small businesses had a year that did not look like the year before, because conditions are so volatile and so difficult.

Yet Labor still thinks the answer is more reporting and more bureaucracy.

This government’s answer to every problem is tax, tax, tax, and Australians are waking up to it.

Small businesses do not need empty gestures and spin from Canberra. They need a government that gets off their back and lets them get on with it.

Small businesses built this country and they remain the engine room of our economy and local communities.

If we want growth, jobs and opportunity again, Labor needs to get out of the way instead of taxing and regulating Australians into the ground.

I will not stop fighting for the tradies, the shopkeepers, the family operators and the everyday Australians who keep this nation running.

Hard work should be rewarded and not punished.

Australians deserve the opportunity to get ahead again. Decline is a choice — and I refuse to accept it.

Stand with me, and together we can fight back.

Time for REAL solutions.
